So this is me jumping into Substack. I’m not going to wait until I have it figured out because the ideas tend to drown and sink in my perfectionist ideals. It’s not a swan dive, but I hope you can feel my belly-flopping sincerity. No idea what’s going on around here but there are a lot of talented people on this platform that I’m going to subscribe and learn from. In honor of Napowrimo 2024 (April is National Poetry Writing Month), I’d like to share some longer writing, starting with this first poem below:
when you see another person suffer and you want them to be healed if they keep getting weirder it only means they are getting free-er unraveling out of their standard genre like a cassette whose tape is all strung out blowing in the parking lot shell cracked open and guts oozing out tape fluttering twisted upon itself trying to reach nirvana via the breath yet holding on still partially in the cassette (the music will never play that way again)
Sending you hope,
Leann
Way to take the leap Leann! I’m here for “belly-flopping sincerity”.
Wow, what a great last line!
